What is GYEON Q²M PPF Renew? GYEON Q²M PPF Renew is a specialised polish for paint protection film – it takes fine scratches, smearing and oxidation off the PPF surface and brings back the film’s original clarity and look, without damaging the material.

Even the best paint protection film starts showing its miles after a few years: fine scratches from washing and brush contact, a light haze from UV, baked-on grime that dulls the surface. GYEON Q²M PPF Renew answers exactly that – a polish built for the softer PU/TPU surface of protection film, so you clear the defects without hurting or thinning the film.

• Takes fine scratches and smearing off the PPF surface, gently. PPF is softer than clearcoat – a normal paint polish chews into the film or goes straight through it. Q²M PPF Renew is dialled in for the hardness of polyurethane and clears defects without overloading the material.
• Brings clarity and gloss back to hazed film. UV and oxidation slowly cloud and yellow PPF over time. PPF Renew carries conditioners that revive the film and give the transparency back – the PPF looks new again.
• Preps the surface for a PPF coating. Before you lay down Q² PPF EVO or another coating on the film, Q²M PPF Renew gives you the base you want – clean, defect-free and ready for the coating to bond.

Day-to-day from Detailing1: Work Q²M PPF Renew by hand, or by machine on a low setting with a soft finishing pad. With PPF, less is more – too much machine pressure heats the film up and stretches it. Wipe down with Q²M Prep after polishing, then ideally go straight to Q² PPF EVO for lasting protection.

When is Q²M PPF Renew the right call?

PPF Renew is for film that shows its use but is still structurally sound. Typical cases: fine wash marks on the film surface (they jump out on dark paint), light haze from UV ageing or water spots, dried-on bugs or bird bombs that left smears behind, and prep work before a PPF sealant goes on. If the film has deep tears, lifting edges or heavy yellowing, replacing those sections is the better call – Renew can’t fix structural damage.

How to use PPF Renew properly

Clean the film thoroughly first and get all the loose dirt off. Put Q²M PPF Renew on a soft microfibre or a finishing pad. Work it by hand in circles, or by machine on a low setting (1–2). Important: keep the machine pressure down – PPF reacts to heat far more than clearcoat does. After polishing, take the residue off with a clean microfibre and wipe the surface down with Q²M Prep. Straight after that you can lay down Q² PPF EVO or Q²M PPF Maintain.

PPF Renew on self-healing film: what to watch

Self-healing PPF (self-healing TPU) closes fine scratches on its own once it warms up. Before you reach for Q²M PPF Renew on self-healing film, check whether the scratches have already gone – hot water or a bit of sun is often all it takes. When they don’t close up (deeper defects, or colder weather), that’s where Q²M PPF Renew comes in. The polish works on self-healing film too and doesn’t kill the self-healing property.

Q²M PPF Renew vs. a normal paint polish: why the difference matters

A normal paint polish – compound or finishing – is formulated for harder clearcoat. On PPF that gives you two problems: either it isn’t abrasive enough and the defects stay put, or it’s too aggressive and takes far too much off the softer film. Q²M PPF Renew is matched to the hardness of PU/TPU film – full defect removal, no risk. For the normal paintwork next to the PPF we go with Q²M Compound+ or Q²M Polish.
