A clear view from one small bottle

CW1:100 Classic is a high-yield screenwash concentrate from Dr. Wack. Mixed at 1:200, 250 ml make up to 50 litres of cleaning fluid that clears glare and smear film. It isn't a ready-to-use screenwash and contains no antifreeze.

CW1:100 Classic is a highly dilutable cleaning concentrate for the windscreen washer system. You mix it with water and pour it into the reservoir, where it lifts bug residue, dust and the typical glare film off the windscreen. On paper, the compact 250 ml bottle replaces about 20 bottles of ready-to-use screenwash, saving space and packaging.

• Goes a long way. Mixed at 1:200, 250 ml of concentrate make up to 50 litres of cleaning fluid. One bottle lasts for plenty of top-ups, and you don't have to lug heavy jerry cans around in the car.
• Tackles glare and smear film. The cleaner dissolves the thin film of exhaust fumes, pollen and road dust that dazzles you against the light. The screen comes up clear again instead of just getting wet for a moment and smearing all over again.
• Kind to materials. The formula is suitable for plastic headlight lenses and fan jets. It doesn't attack these parts and can extend the life of your wiper rubbers.

Detailing1's tip from the shop: The most common mistake is overdosing in the hope of more cleaning power. Too much concentrate leaves streaks and takes several wipes before the screen is clear again. Stick to 1:200 and only go slightly stronger when there's visibly heavy glare film; you'll get a cleaner result and the bottle lasts longer.

How to use

Mix the concentrate with water at 1:200 and pour it into the washer reservoir; then every press of the washer cleans screen and headlights in one go.

For normal dosing, that's about 1.25 ml of concentrate to 250 ml of water. With stubborn glare film you can go slightly stronger. After the first fill, give the jets a quick flush so the film lifts evenly and the wipers glide cleanly from the start.

We've mixed the concentrate at our Nordhorn warehouse for hard-worked windscreens. In practice it pays to keep a small pre-mixed reserve in the boot rather than fiddling with neat concentrate on the road.

Limits

CW1:100 Classic is a pure cleaning concentrate and contains no antifreeze. In winter you need to add an antifreeze as well, otherwise the system can freeze. Nor does it replace a thorough hand or glass clean for stuck-on deposits like baked-on bugs or tar; for those, you're better off cleaning the screen directly with a cloth and a suitable glass cleaner.

Who it's for

The concentrate suits anyone who wants to top up their screenwash economically, compactly and gently on materials, from everyday drivers to thorough DIY detailers. If a clear view without glare film matters to you and you'd rather not haul heavy ready-mix bottles, CW1:100 Classic is spot on.

How to use CW1:100 Classic

Mix the concentrate with water at 1:200, so about 1.25 ml to 250 ml of water, and pour the mix into the washer reservoir. With stubborn glare film you can dose slightly higher.

Flush the jets once before your first drive so the film lifts evenly and the wipers glide cleanly. That's easier on the wiper rubbers and gets you a clear view faster.

In winter, add an antifreeze as well. CW1:100 Classic is a cleaning concentrate without antifreeze; on its own it won't stop the reservoir from freezing.
